If you're researching US visas and the best place to get one, you've probably heard phrases like:
"São Paulo rejects more applications."
"It's easier in Porto Alegre and the Northeast."
"Try getting your US visa in Brasília; the consular agents are friendlier."
But is that true?
I'm here to tell you, based on the experience of Serian Vistos, an immigration agency with expertise in the market:
👉 There is no consulate that is easier.
👉 There is no city that approves more applications by rule.
Although it may be hard to believe, I can affirm that the legislation applied is the same in all United States Department of State consulates, following the same American law, and consular officers apply the following:
Section 214(b) of the United States Immigration Act
- The U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act (INA)
- The Department of State's Foreign Affairs Manual (FAM)
- U.S. federal regulations
The criterion used, the legal basis, is unique and federal, valid worldwide; it is not a regional criterion.
